You can apply online for a A.B.N Number at ABR.GOV.AU. This is free online at their website. It not compulsory to have a A.B.N. to operate on this website. You do not need to register for goods & services tax if your income is below $80,000 . You will need to notify this website and the tax Dept When Your income rises above $80,000. There are many tax concessions for those wishing to run their own business .Consultation with a accountant is advised.
